--The selling in oil futures after the release of U.S. central bankers' latest meeting minutes built in Asia on Thursday.

--April light, sweet crude on the New York Mercantile Exchange was recently down 1.1% at $61.03 a barrel in the Globex trading session. April Brent fell 0.8% to $64.90.

--Oil fell with equities late Wednesday, a decline which continued after the U.S. settlement time, as a risk-off sentiment hung over markets on fresh concerns about rising interest rates.

--Prices didn't react positively to an industry-group reading ahead of Asian trading that U.S. oil inventories fell slightly last week. A modest increase is anticipated in the government's Thursday report.
