Item 5.02. Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain
Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers.
(b) On December 14, 2017, David Apelian, M.D., Ph.D. delivered his resignation as Executive
Vice President, Chief Medical Officer of Achillion Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (the Company), effective December 28, 2017. Dr. Apelian is leaving the Company to pursue another professional opportunity. A retained search for a new Chief Medical
Officer has been initiated with Russell Reynolds Associates.
On December 14, 2017, Avner Ingerman, M.D., Senior Vice President, assumed responsibility
for development operations.
