The institutional review board-approved observational sociolinguistic study, published in PLOS ONE (www.journals.plos.org/plosone), examined the dialogues between patients with OAB and their treating physicians. The research included semi-structured post-visit interviews, post-visit questionnaires, and followup phone calls. Conversations were analyzed using techniques from interactional sociolinguistics.
