Company earns Remarkable Results Award for leadership in driver training

LogistiCare, the nation’s largest non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) broker, today announced it has been honored with the Remarkable Results Award presented by the National Safety Council (NSC). LogistiCare was recognized at the annual Defensive Driving Course (DDC) Award Ceremony at the 2017 NSC Congress and Expo in Indianapolis.

“Safety is extremely important to us and this award supports what we hold true and value and that is the wellbeing of our members,” said Jeff Felton, LogistiCare CEO. “It’s rewarding to be continually recognized for our proactive efforts by one of the nation’s foremost independent safety organizations.”

The award is given to DDC Training Centers that lead the industry in helping develop safer drivers. This marks the fifth consecutive year the company has been recognized by the NSC for leadership in driver training. LogistiCare is the only NEMT broker to be recognized by the NSC.

"LogistiCare has an impressive record providing transportation providers with lifesaving vehicle operating skills through our NSC Defensive Driving Courses,” said James A. Solomon, program director for Defensive Driving Courses at the National Safety Council.

Gordon McInnis, safety director at LogistiCare, accepted the award on behalf of the company.

“The NSC pioneered driver safety training more than 50 years ago and the training programs they have created are unrivaled in helping reduce risk and promoting safety on our roadways,” he said. “The nationally accredited training course that we subsidize for our transportation providers is the most comprehensive program for tens of thousands of NEMT drivers throughout the nation.”

Past LogistiCare NSC recognitions include:

2012 - DDC Best Performance Award: Presented to the DDC Training Center whose accomplishments far exceeded other training centers in their group.

2013 - DDC Trend Setter Award: Presented to DDC Training Centers that work to develop as many safe drivers as possible.

2014 - DDC Powerful Performance Award: Presented to DDC Training Centers that consistently achieve high levels of performance.

2015 and 2016 - DDC Remarkable Results Award: Presented to DDC Training Centers that remarkably lead their field in developing safer drivers on our roadways.

The NSC defensive driving program is just one of many credentialing standards and protocols LogistiCare’s transportation providers must complete. The company’s stringent, safe driver program also includes instruction in first aid, passenger assistance and sensitivity training.

“Clients choose to work with us because they know there is a consistent application of leading safety protocols,” McInnis added. “Our adherence to these standards gives our members confidence knowing they will experience reliable, safe transportation on a daily basis.”
