Summary of 2017 First Half Business Report

On August 14, 2017, KB Financial Group Inc. (“KB Financial Group”) filed its business report for the first half of 2017 (the “Business Report”) with the Financial Services Commission of Korea and the Korea Exchange. This is a summary of the Business Report translated into English.

Except where indicated otherwise, financial information contained in this summary has been prepared in accordance with the Korean equivalent of International Financial Reporting Standards (“K-IFRS”), which differ in certain important respects from generally accepted accounting principles in the United States.

All references to “KB Financial Group,” “we,” “us” or the “Company” are to KB Financial Group and, unless the context requires otherwise, its subsidiaries. In addition, all references to “Won” or “KRW” in this document are to the currency of the Republic of Korea.

1. Introduction to the Company

 

1.1. Business Purpose

KB Financial Group is a financial holding company that was established in September 2008. Its main business purpose is to hold shares in companies that are engaged in financial or related services, as well as govern and manage such companies. Its consolidated subsidiaries are primarily engaged in the banking business, as well as the credit card business, the financial investment business, the insurance business and other related businesses.
