Vale clarifies on the possible acquisition of Casa de Pedra mine

Rio de Janeiro, August 4, 2017 — Vale S.A. (Vale) clarifies that there is no deliberation within the administration boards of the company of a potential acquisition of Casa de Pedra mine owned by Companhia Siderurgica Nacional (CSN). Additionally, we inform that there is no ongoing discussion, and never was, to acquire assets from CSN.
