Item 5.02. Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers.

On August 2, 2017, Robert W. Haugen, Executive Vice President, Refining Operations, for CVR Energy, Inc. (the “Company”) and CVR Refining GP, LLC, the general partner of CVR Refining, LP (the “Partnership”) provided notice of his resignation. Mr. Haugen is a named executive officer of the Company and the Partnership. His resignation is effective September 1, 2017.
