CLARIFICATION ANNOUNCEMENT

REGARDING CERTAIN MEDIA REPORTS

It has come to the attention of China Eastern Airlines Corporation Limited (the “ Company ”) that there are media reports regarding a proposed disposal of the equity interest in Shanghai Airline Company Limited (上海航空有限公司) (the “ Shanghai Airlines ”), which was subsequently quoted and reproduced in certain other online media.

To avoid causing any misleading confusions to the investors and the direction of public opinions, in respect of the above media reports, the Company wishes to clarify that it has never had any plan to dispose the equity interest in Shanghai Airlines. The information reported in those media reports is therefore inaccurate and incorrect.

In respect of such misconduct that may potentially mislead the securities market, the Company will report this incident to the relevant authorities and will take all necessary legal actions where applicable.
