Xplore Secures New Rugged Tablet Order from Independent Provincial Corporation in One of Canada’s Most Populated Regions
June 27 2017 - 9:00AM
Xplore Technologies Corp. (NASDAQ:XPLR) today announced that a
provincial organization in one of Canada's largest provinces is
upgrading to an Xplore XSLATE R12 rugged tablet based solution for
property assessments. The provincial authority has used Xplore F5m
rugged tablets in the field for the last seven years. An initial
order is currently being fulfilled through Xplore’s partner Island
Key Computers. The assessment authority will also equip its
assessors with Xplore’s docking stations, auto adapters, and rugged
tablet carrying cases to maximize the XSLATE R12’s ease of use in
the field.
The provincial organization is responsible for performing
property assessments across a massive swath of territory in Canada,
including several remote areas. It requires a completely reliable
mobile solution to manage information-intensive activities from
multiple field locations. The Xplore XSLATE R12 enables the
agency’s property assessors to consistently fulfill their mandate
in developing and maintaining real assessments and information,
even in the most remote locations of the province. The 12.5” rugged
tablet’s brightest-in-class 800 Nit View Anywhere display also
allows for easy day-and-night viewing of detailed data sets.
“Data integrity is of the utmost importance in the development
and maintenance of government records, such as the property
assessments managed by this long-time Xplore customer,” noted Mark
Holleran, president and CEO of Xplore. “The XSLATE R12 is not only
the fastest and most powerful rugged tablet on Earth, but it’s also
one of the most versatile mobile computers on the market today. Its
transformational 2 in 1 design not only boasts the high-performance
data capabilities that government agencies demand, but the complete
computing functions that their most mobile workers need to meet
productivity expectations while on the road.”
But those aren’t the only reasons the customer chose to upgrade
to the XSLATE R12. The assessors need a lightweight device that is
consistently reliable in the field and capable of surviving extreme
weather conditions, especially the long rainy seasons typical in
this Canadian region. They also need a battery capable of lasting
during long trips to the province’s most remote areas. The
Intel®-powered XSLATE R12 is well-prepared to not just survive, but
thrive, in these demanding work environments. It’s equipped with an
onboard camera, pen and touch capabilities that enable assessors to
complete more data-intensive tasks with complete accuracy. The
standard hot-swappable battery powers mobile workers through long
shifts in the field, while built-in 4G LTE and GPS satellite
communications technologies keep assessors connected no matter how
far from the office they travel.
