June 20 2017 - 8:30AM
Performance monitoring and testing solutions provider, Apica, today
announced the appointment of Steve Munford and Ajay Singh to its
board of directors as non-executive directors, who will contribute
to the strategy and evolution of the business as Apica scales its
international expansion.
Munford was the CEO of Sophos from 2005 until 2012, where he led
it through a period of dramatic growth. Munford currently serves as
a non-executive director at Sophos (LSE:SOPH), as well as several
other leading companies including Alert Logic, Elastic Path
Software and Carbonite (NASDAQ:CARB).
Singh, the Senior Vice President and General Manager of VMware’s
Cloud Management Business Unit, brings more than 25 years of
experience in the software and services industry to the Apica team.
Singh’s previous positions include: Senior VP and General Manager
of Hewlett Packard’s IT Operations Management Software Business;
CEO of Elastic Intelligence, an infrastructure
platform-as-a-service company that was acquired by Intuit; and
founder of ProactiveNet, which he sold to BMC.
These appointments coincide with Apica’s global sales team
expansion, a new London office and acceptance onto the GOV.UK Cloud
marketplace. CEO Carmen Carey commented: “Steve and Ajay are
extremely experienced and bring a wealth of knowledge to the Apica
board. As we continue to expand internationally, it is fantastic to
have visionary and strategic insight from these leaders with deep
industry and enterprise customer experience.”
Carey continued: “Apica first half recurring
revenue growth is up over 150% versus last year. We are delighted
to see this performance and appreciate the support of our
longstanding and new customers as we have had significant new
customer wins in all regions. In the coming months, we will
continue to expand our team in our key markets, with a focus on
sales and marketing.”
Singh said: “Digital transformation is on every
large enterprise’s agenda but the test will be how well their new
apps and services perform, and this is where Apica steps in. The
technical excellence, combined with passion and business
understanding, of the Apica leadership team is a compelling
combination. I look forward to supporting their mission to partner
with businesses globally to ensure peak performance.”
Munford commented: “Apica is going through
dramatic growth as more and more Fortune 500 customers choose Apica
to solve their challenges in application testing and monitoring.
The team at Apica has built a truly market-leading product and I
look forward to working with them as they continue to drive
innovations and scale to meet customer demand.”
Apica has also appointed Ariel Cruz as Global Head of People,
Performance and Organization, Kristin Ralph as Global Financial
Controller and David Kross as Global Marketing Director. All three
new appointments will be based at Apica’s New York office.
With strategic investment in international
execution capability, Apica will drive market expansion in the
Americas, UK and Nordics. Key global clients include Scholastic,
Etihad and Sweden’s TV4.
