Highlight Growing Role of TransAct’s AccuDate XL in Back-of-House
Operations
Customer-Driven Evolution of AccuDate Line
on Display at Booth #7645
TransAct® Technologies Incorporated (Nasdaq:TACT) (“TransAct” or
“the Company”), a global leader in software-driven technology and
printing solutions for high-growth markets, announced today that
the Company will demonstrate the full range of its industry-leading
AccuDate™ restaurant solutions – including its AccuDate XL
collaborations with both Jolt and CrunchTime! Information Systems
(“CrunchTime”) – at the National Restaurant Association ("NRA")
Show 2017, to be held on May 20‐23, 2017, at McCormick Place (Booth
#7645) in Chicago, Illinois. The thousands of attendees at NRA Show
2017 will see first-hand the customer-driven evolution of the
Company’s leading terminal solutions which have become technology
hubs that meet the varied back-of-house needs of restaurant and
foodservice operators.
“At a time when restaurant and food service operators face
increased competition, rising costs and lower profits, the
marketplace for hardware and software solutions that allow for
efficient management of back-of-house operations is rapidly
evolving and has created clear opportunities for forward-thinking
suppliers,” said Bart Shuldman, Chairman and CEO of TransAct
Technologies. “TransAct sensed this opportunity and has developed a
unique purpose-built software and hardware solution marketed today
under our AccuDate brand, all while cultivating a technology
ecosystem that has seen us partner with leading software providers
such as Jolt and CrunchTime. We are delighted to return to NRA Show
2017 in Chicago where we will demonstrate our clear and unyielding
commitment to this exciting market.
“In particular, restaurants and foodservice operators of all
sizes dedicated to food safety and unparalleled food quality have
been the key drivers in our efforts to evolve our AccuDate lineup
and also engage with software partners to further extend the
capabilities we can deliver. AccuDate terminals are not just used
to automate and improve food safety labeling, they also meet the
needs of customers who are looking to better manage a whole range
of back-of-house operations when used in conjunction with software
from firms such as CrunchTime and Jolt. Further, by running the
Android operating system, the AccuDate XL is an ideal platform for
any developer of back-of-house software for the food service
industry, ensuring that the AccuDate terminals will adapt to
changing needs.”
The Revolutionary, Powerful AccuDate XL from TransAct
TransAct’s AccuDate XL is a rugged, splash resistant,
Android-based touch screen terminal specifically designed for harsh
kitchen environments, featuring built in Ethernet, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth
and USB connectivity, as well as two internal high speed thermal
label printers. When used with software such as KitchenSync from
CrunchTime, and Jolt, the AccuDate XL becomes a hub for a wide
range of operations-enhancing applications associated with food
prep, food safety, employee training and operational
efficiency.
The AccuDate XL in Partnership with Jolt
Through a partnership between TransAct and Jolt (NRA Show 2017
Booth #6773), restaurant operators buying the AccuDate XL get free
and immediate access to a Jolt software solution that powers the
terminal’s food expiration date labeling, grab ‘n go labeling,
account management and analytics capabilities, and later this year,
the added capability to distribute training video, recipe cards and
other media via the terminal. The combined AccuDate XL and Jolt
platform make quick work of food expiration labeling and grab ‘n go
labeling for any restaurant. Jolt’s cloud-based administration tool
allows restaurant and food service operators to centrally manage
menu items, label design, training videos and recipe cards, at a
corporate, regional or even local level, enabling the combined
solution’s use in operations of all sizes. For an additional
monthly fee, customers implementing the full Jolt solution can
standardize their key back of house operations as well as their
HAACP (“Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point”) temperature
monitoring and food safety processes.

can leverage KitchenSync™, an Android-based app, to fully integrate
the terminal with CrunchTime’s leading back-office restaurant
management platform. The AccuDate XL powered by KitchenSync becomes
a fully integrated prep planning and recipe display station that
connects kitchen prep functions with CrunchTime’s enterprise
back-office platform, delivering powerful features that incorporate
sales forecasts, intra-day POS transactions, and historical
consumption patterns to provide the restaurant team with the
ability to review the day’s prep plan, perform prep as required by
the flow of the business and print prep labels using the AccuDate
XL. In addition, KitchenSync updates inventory levels that can
trigger prep and purchasing alerts, displays recipe information,
preparation instructions, plating instructions, recipe pictures,
video, cost information, nutritional information, and allergen
