MuleSoft (NYSE: MULE), provider of the leading platform for
building application networks, today announced that Shay Mowlem has
joined the company as chief marketing officer (CMO). Mowlem is a
veteran marketing executive with rich software industry experience
from his previous roles at prominent cloud and platform technology
providers, including most recently Splunk. As CMO, he will oversee
global marketing strategy and broaden MuleSoft’s awareness
worldwide. Mowlem will report to MuleSoft’s CEO, Greg Schott.
“As one of the fastest-growing enterprise software companies, it
is important that we continue to uplevel our brand and expand our
vision for API-led connectivity worldwide to capitalize on our
market opportunity,” said Schott. “Shay’s deep go-to-market
expertise and strong technical skills make him a great fit to lead
the marketing efforts at MuleSoft. His experience and leadership
will help propel us forward as we help organizations in today’s
digital era by building application networks.”
Mowlem brings more than 20 years of marketing leadership
experience, driving global demand generation, product marketing and

executive marketing positions at Splunk, helping to elevate its
leadership in the technology industry and more than double revenues
over a three-year period. As vice president of global demand
generation and digital marketing, Mowlem played a critical role in
transforming the customer journey from first touch to customer
success. He also served as interim CMO and vice president of
product marketing and product management during his time at Splunk.
His earlier experience includes marketing leadership roles at both
large and high growth technology companies, such as CA
Technologies, Opsware (acquired by HP) and Portal Software
(acquired by Oracle). Shay earned degrees in physics and electrical
engineering from Binghamton University and Columbia University.
“MuleSoft is at the center of major technology forces — SaaS,
mobile, social, the internet of things and microservices — and its
industry-leading Anypoint Platform enables these technologies to
connect and work together. MuleSoft is uniquely positioned to help
organizations take on digital transformation and gain competitive
advantage by building application networks,” said Mowlem. “I’m
