Item 5.02 Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers.
On May 2, 2017, the Board of Directors of General Mills, Inc. (the "Company") elected Kofi A. Bruce Vice President, Controller to succeed Jerald A. Young as the Company’s principal accounting officer effective August 1, 2017. Mr. Young is retiring from the Company on July 31, 2017.
Mr. Bruce, age 46, has served as the Company’s Vice President of Finance for Convenience Stores and Foodservice since July 2014. He was appointed the Company’s Vice President, Treasurer in July 2012 and May 2009, and served as the Vice President of Finance for the Yoplait division from 2010 to 2012. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Bruce served in various executive finance roles at Ecolab Inc. and Ford Motor Company.
