More than 700 employees will volunteer 2,500 hours in the communities where they live and work

Employees from across PECO are advancing our region and celebrating National Volunteer Week (April 23-29) by participating in more than 35 employee-led service projects across southeastern Pennsylvania. These projects include renewing green spaces, serving meals to families in need, and educating children about science in the park.

“We do more than provide safe, reliable, affordable and clean energy for our customers – our employees actively support the communities where they live and work every day,” said Craig Adams, PECO president and CEO. “We are proud to help so many local nonprofit organizations achieve their goals and make our communities a better place for our customers.”

Examples of PECO’s National Volunteer Week projects include:

  • April 24 (Gladwyne, Pa.) – Joining the Riverbend Environmental Center to perform planting, weeding, and restoring the area to help enhance the habitat for local wildlife
  • April 25 (West Chester, Pa.) – Restoring wetlands to support habitat management at the Natural Lands Trusts Stroud Preserve
  • April 26 (Phoenixville, Pa.) Beautifying the grounds and painting benches of the nation’s oldest Medal of Honor Memorial
