Shell Reduced Unit Rates at Deer Park, Texas, Facility

Royal Dutch Shell PLC (RDSA, RDSB) said a leaking pump seal led
to reduced operating rates at a unit of its Deer Park refining and
chemical facility near Houston.
In a statement to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality,
the refinery said the leak happened Saturday within its "HT2," or
Hydrotreater 2.
"The pump was shutdown and isolated, and a vacuum truck was
called to remove spilled contents from the area," it said. "Unit
rates were reduced in an effort to stop the leak.
Shell Deer Park is on the Houston Ship Channel, 20 miles east of
downtown Houston. The facility includes a 285,000-barrel-a-day
refinery.
