WorldFlix’s New Smartphone Apps Set to Tap into Massive
Billion Dollar Market Potential
- Parents are looking for solutions to security challenges for
kids’ smartphone usage
- Advertisers are shifting their focus to mobile
PALM SPRINGS, CA -- April 3, 2017 -- InvestorsHub NewsWire --
WorldFlix, Inc. (OTC:
WRFX) is tapping into a huge and rapidly growing market with
its new Swantry and Swanlock smartphone apps, designed to allow
parents to guide a child’s responsible and safe smartphone use.
According to the Pew
Research Center, 95% of Americans have a cellphone of
some kind. In 2013, just over half of Americans used a smartphone;
that figure has jumped to over 75% today.
As smartphone popularity increases, the number of children using
smartphones also grows, and parents are looking for ways to protect
their children when they use the devices, and to encourage
responsible use. A recent Nielsen report
highlights two key indicators of the success potential for
WordFlix’s Swantry and Swanlock apps.
First, the report points out that the expanding
demographic of child mobile phone users is one that marketers will
want to reach—“As the saying goes, with kid comes a
parent.” These apps will be attractive to marketers who want to
reach large numbers of parents and children. Since the apps are
installed on the phones of both the adult and the child, they offer
a unique marketing opportunity.
Mobile advertising revenue represents the largest share of online
ad spending—which is over $50 billion in the United States, and the
market is expected to continue its rapid growth, according to
TechCrunch.
The Nielsen report—which looks at why parents get phones for kids
younger than 13, what parents’ top concerns are about their
children’s mobile usage, how parents’ concerns can be addressed,
and top mobile activities—also confirms that the
Swantry and Swanlock apps are perfectly aligned with the market’s
need, as expressed by parents of children with
smartphones. The chart below details this
alignment.
Swantry provides a comprehensive suite of tools for ensuring child
safety, including geo-fencing, curfew settings, a versatile
messenger app that aims to stop cyberbullying, real time
notifications and alarms, designation of trusted contacts, and
allowing only trusted apps to be downloaded on the smartphone.
Swanlock, which is available now as a stand-alone app, and will
also be included as one feature of the Swantry app, lets parents
set a time-out from phone use, remotely locking the child’s device.
The parent can share a picture or message on the child’s lock
screen. The time-out can be activated at any time, or based on a
fixed schedule. With Swanlock, children learn to have a healthy
balance between smartphone use and more important things like
family time, homework, and bedtime.
Both apps are developed by cyber-security experts at Paranotek to
ensure the safety and privacy of users’ data.
