Airbus Appeal for A400 Million Talks Gets Muted Response -- Market Talk

Dow Jones News
1316 GMT - Hours after Airbus says it is seeking talks with
governments over relief of some onerous financial penalties on the
A400M military transport plane program, the response from customer
nations is muted. French government officials aren't ready to say
anything. German government officials welcomed Airbus's commitment
to the program and desire to fix the problems. A spokesman says
talks that have been ongoing for some time could continue. But the
government wasn't ready, at this point, to commit to renegotiation
of contract terms. (robert.wall@wsj.com)
