Progressive Announces 2017 Annual Meeting Dates and Management Change

MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO - February 17, 2017 - The Progressive Corporation (NYSE: PGR) today announced that the Board of Directors took the following actions:

The Board fixed the close of business on March 17, 2017, as the record date for the determination of shareholders entitled to notice of, and to vote at, the Annual Meeting of Shareholders scheduled to be held on May 12, 2017.

Also, the Board elected Daniel P. Mascaro as its new Chief Legal Officer, Secretary, and Vice President to be effective March 1, 2017, after the retirement of Charles E. Jarrett. Mr. Jarrett has held these positions since joining Progressive in 2000.

Mr. Mascaro joined Progressive in 2002, leading the Corporate Legal Litigation Group. Since then, he has held a variety of leadership positions across the organization including Media Business Leader, Personal Lines General Manager for the Central Region, and, for the last four years, Claims Legal Business Leader. Prior to Progressive, Mr. Mascaro was a partner in the BakerHostetler law firm.
