CELLCOM ISRAEL ANNOUNCES REQUEST FOR INJUNCTION

AGAINST THE COMPANY'S NETWORK SHARING AGREEMENT

WITH ELECTRA

 

NETANYA, Israel, January 31, 2017 – Cellcom Israel Ltd. (NYSE: CEL) (the “Company”) announced today that Marathon 108 Xfone Ltd., or Xfone, filed with the district court a request for an interim injunction against the Company, seeking to prevent the completion and execution of the Company's January 2017 network sharing and hosting agreement with Electra Consumer Products Ltd., or the Electra Agreement, claiming that the Electra Agreement contradicts Xfone's network sharing and hosting agreement with the Company (entered July 2016) and violates Xfone's rights. The Company rejects the claims made by Xfone and intends to execute both agreements (subject to regulatory approvals) and intends to vigorously oppose Xfone's request.
