American River Bank Foundation Donates $130,000 to Nonprofit Organizations

American River Bank, a subsidiary of American River Bankshares
(NASDAQ:AMRB), today announced that the American River Bank
Foundation (the Foundation) will be awarding $130,000 to 15
nonprofit organizations in Northern California. Since 2004,
the Foundation has awarded $983,100 to 52 different organizations.
“The American River Bank Foundation is committed to
building up our local communities by contributing financially to
organizations that help the most vulnerable women and
children. We look for organizations that change lives,” said
David T. Taber, President and CEO of American River Bank. “We are
deeply inspired by the generosity of our employees, Board, clients,
partners and sponsors who made it possible for us to donate
$130,000 to 15 remarkable organizations.”
In 2016, American River Bank employees donated
$19,509 to the Foundation, which is 100% matched by American River
Bank, and $37,000 was raised from the Bank’s Annual Charity Golf
Classic. All donations received by the Foundation are granted back
out to the community as the Foundation is financially supported by
American River Bank, its employees and partners.
The Foundation’s grant recipients are as
follows:
- Amador County Court Appointed Special Advocates will receive
$8,500 in 2017 to expand the volunteer program that serves
additional foster youth who are in need of advocacy and
support.
- Committee on the Shelterless (COTS) will receive $5,000 in 2017
to expand the Kids First Program which provides emergency shelter,
transition and permanent housing, and supportive, transformative
services for homeless children and their families in Sonoma
County.
- Community Action Partnership of Sonoma County will receive
$8,400 in 2017 to help fund the Sloan House Emergency Women’s
Shelter which provides short-term housing to women and children who
have lost their homes/housing and are unable to obtain housing
independent of assistance.
- Court Appointment Special Advocates of Sacramento County will
receive $10,000 in 2017 to help support the volunteer program that
will provide advocacy and one-on-one mentoring for at-risk female
foster youth in Sacramento County.
- Hospice of Amador & Calaveras will receive $5,000 in 2017
to fund the Griefbusters program which provides quality end-of-life
care for patients and families within the community.
- Keaton Raphael Memorial for Neuroblastoma Inc. will receive
$10,000 in 2017 to help fund the Family Navigator Program which
will assist families with case management, health education,
financial assistance, and social support to ease their burden.
- LifeWorks of Sonoma County will receive $5,000 in 2017 to
support the El Puente (The Bridge) program which serves some of the
most at-risk, underserved youth and families.
- Operation Care will receive $6,000 in 2017 to fund the Fresh
Start program so that women leaving the shelter may obtain and
sustain housing.
- Placer Food Bank will receive $10,000 in 2017 to fund the Feed
Our Future program which collaborates with schools, districts,
suppliers, volunteers, and funding partners to increase access to
nutritious food and close the meal gap among families with
children.
- Roseville Home Start will receive $15,000 in 2017 to help
support the Transitional Housing for Homeless Children & their
Families program with the most immediate needs of children and
women including diapers, infant nutrition, hygiene/cleaning
products and adult interview clothes.
- Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services will receive $10,000
in 2017 to fund the Parent Education program which provides parents
with young children, family and life courses and workshops and
access to a Parent Resource Center which will earn credits for
infant/toddler supplies upon successful completion.
- Saint John’s Program for Real Change will receive $12,000 in
2017 to help support Stabilization & Employment Training
Program which will help provide families with hours of intensive,
in depth services addressing the issues which contribute to their
poverty and homelessness.
- Wellspring Women’s Center will receive $10,000 in 2017 to help
support its four core programs: Nutritious Meal Program, Children's
Corner Program, Safety Net Services Program, and the Women's
Wellness Program.
- Women’s Empowerment will receive $10,000 in 2017 to help
support The Get A Job Kit Paid Training Program which provides a
new pathway for women out of homelessness and into the
workforce.
- YWCA Sonoma County will receive $5,000 in 2017 to help support
the “A Special Place” Therapeutic Preschool Therapy Services
program which serves children affected by Domestic Violence, ages
3-5 year olds who are in the therapeutic preschool, A Special
Place, as well as older children from their emergency shelter and
long-term supportive after-care program.
