(ALPHARETTA, GA) January 17, 2017 -
Schweitzer-Mauduit International, Inc. (NYSE: SWM) announced today
that it has purchased machinery to expand its capacity in filigreed
cigarette papers for the Roll Your Own (RYO) and cigarette
manufacturing sectors in its Saint Girons, France location. The
machinery allows for distinctive markings to be embossed on papers,
offering cigarette manufacturers innovative design options for
their products. This additional manufacturing capacity, which is

capacity to service our customers and demonstrates our continued
commitment to this sector," commented Michel Fievez, Executive Vice
President for SWM's Global Paper and RTL Business Unit. "Not
only will we be able to serve our customers' growing demand, but we
will do so with state-of-the-art equipment that will provide high
quality and diverse offerings for our customers to differentiate
their brands in the marketplace."
This investment will further add to SWM's
capabilities and commitment as a full-line supplier to the tobacco
industry, with special focus on the RYO category. In addition
to filigreed papers, SWM's expertise includes the widest range of
thin and ultra-thin papers on the market (10gsm to 28gsm) in a
variety of styles to meet customers' unique requirements.
Transparent or white, bleached or unbleached, wood or textile,
