Dow, DuPont to have EU Merger Hearing on Monday -- Market Talk

Dow Chemical Co. and DuPont Co. will present their arguments to
the European Union antitrust regulator for their proposed merger in
a private hearing Monday, according to people familiar with the
matter. The companies will seek to address concerns by the European
Commission outlined in a so-called statement of objections. Oral
hearings are common in EU reviews of large, complex mergers. The
commission has signaled that one of its primary concerns about the
merger is that it could reduce the number of innovators in the
crop-protection industry.
