Dow Jones News
LONDON--Ophir Energy PLC (OPHR.LN) said Thursday no oil has been
found at Kitatange-1 in Block 1 and Bunju-1 in Block 4, offshore
Tanzania.
The company, together with its joint venture partners, BG
Tanzania and Pavilion Energy, have concluded the drilling of the
two exploration wells safely and on time, Ophir said.
The two wells fulfill the final exploration commitments over the
exploration licenses issued by the Ministry of Energy and Minerals,
the company said, adding that the Noble Globetrotter 2 rig has now
been demobilized from site.
Subsequent to the completion of drilling Kitatange-1, a bridging
license has been awarded for the existing discovery Locations in
Block 1, Ophir said.
