Item 8.01 Other Events

On December 22, 2016, the Board of Directors of Horizon Bancorp (the “ Company ”) announced that it has approved an increase in the Company’s quarterly cash dividend from $0.10 to $0.11 per share, payable on January 20, 2017 to shareholders of record on January 6, 2017. Additional information about the dividend increase is included in the press release attached as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report on Form 8-K.
