Pitney Bowes Inc. (NYSE: PBI), a global technology leader that
provides innovative solutions and services powering
anywhere-to-everywhere commerce today announced a partnership with
Bonanza, an online marketplace for everything but the ordinary.
Selling and buying just became easier for U.S. entrepreneurs and
consumers on this growing marketplace with the cross-border
Borderfree Marketplace solutions and Shipping APIs for domestic
shipping from Pitney Bowes.
Bonanza is known for its seller-friendly and social online site,
which empowers tens of thousands of entrepreneurs to create their
dream businesses and sell vibrant collections of fashion,
collectibles, home décor and other items to consumers directly.
Sellers can chat online in real-time with buyers on the site and
use a variety of sales tools including newsletters.
To help their sellers, Bonanza is now using Pitney Bowes’ API
technologies to power cross-border as well as domestic shipping.
Leveraging the Pitney Bowes Borderfree Marketplace solution, U.S.
sellers can reach more buyers and expand their selling
opportunities to more than 100 countries around the world. In
addition, sellers will have access to Pitney Bowes’ Shipping APIs
for first mile support, helping to streamline the process of
shipping products to buyers in the U.S.
The Borderfree Marketplace solution streamlines the process of
shipping and tracking items for both the U.S. seller and the global
online shopper. The solution calculates all costs upfront for each
international order including duties, taxes and shipping fees.
These fees are guaranteed in real-time at the checkout by Pitney
Bowes. This eliminates all unforeseen shipping and importation
costs, so there are never any surprises for sellers or buyers when
items are delivered.
For international transactions, U.S. entrepreneurs will only
have to list items on Bonanza’s website and if an international
buyer decides to purchases an item, the U.S. seller ships the item
to a convenient distribution center in the U.S. managed by Pitney
Bowes. The center then handles everything required to send the item
to the buyer including country-specific export compliance and
customs documentation, making international shipping seamless and
easy.
The Shipping API offering helps sellers on Bonanza ship their
merchandise to buyers in the U.S. and abroad. Powered by the latest
in API technology from Pitney Bowes, sellers can simplify the
shipping process including the creation of shipping labels, access
to discounted rates, and package tracking from origin through
delivery.
“When we started Bonanza, our goal was to bring a much-needed
human element into the online marketplace to help entrepreneurs
connect with online shoppers and sell items that they can’t find
anywhere else,” said Mark Dorsey, Co-Founder, Bonanza. “Our
partnership with Pitney Bowes will now help us deliver an easy and
convenient experience for our sellers in the U.S. to ship
internationally."
“We are excited to be partnering with Bonanza to deliver an
uncomplicated ecommerce experience for U.S. entrepreneurs so they
can grow their businesses,” said Lila Snyder, Executive Vice
President and President, Global Ecommerce, Pitney Bowes. “Through
our API technologies we can help Bonanza connect their sellers to
their buyers around the world seamlessly and completely as well as
better manage their customer relationships.”
The Pitney Bowes Borderfree Marketplace Solution and the
Shipping APIs are available as part of the Pitney Bowes Commerce
Cloud, a commerce enabler, providing access to solutions, analytics
and APIs across the full commerce continuum with speed and
agility.
