CHARLOTTE, N.C., Dec. 2, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Albemarle Corporation (NYSE: ALB), a leader in the global specialty chemicals industry, announced today that effective January 1, 2017, or as contracts allow, it will increase the price of select brominated flame retardants and bromine derivatives by 5%.

This increase is necessary to support continued investment in product quality, reliability, development, advocacy and stewardship, as well as to offset the rising cost of raw materials.
