TORONTO, Nov. 10, 2016 /CNW/ - Invesco Canada was honoured with six awards at the 2016 Lipper Fund Awards, presented last night in Toronto. The awards showcase the company's breadth of offerings and geographically diverse equity expertise.

"These awards recognize the strength of Invesco's full suite of investments, ranging from our fundamentals-research driven active funds to our factor-based ETFs," said Rob Mikalachki, Chief Investment Officer of Trimark Investments, a unit of Invesco Canada. "What all of our offerings have in common is the pursuit of returns beyond those of the common capitalization-weighted benchmark."

Trimark Emerging Markets Class (Series A) was best in the Emerging Markets Equity category over the three-year period. Lead manager Jeff Feng focuses on attractively priced businesses that are based or active in emerging markets and have solid competitive advantages.

Trimark International Companies Fund (Series A), co-managed by Mr. Feng and Matt Peden, was named best in the International Equity category for the three-year period. The portfolio management team focuses on companies that offer strong management, industry leadership and a demonstrated commitment to securing a competitive advantage.

Led by Mr. Peden, the Fund looks for high-quality stocks located mainly in Europe, including Eastern Europe, that are attractively priced relative to their historical earnings, cash flow and valuation record to achieve long-term capital growth.

Also in the European Equity category, Invesco European Growth Class (Series A) earned top honours for the 10-year period. Managed by the Invesco International and Global Growth team in Austin, Texas, the team's investment process identifies companies that possess, or exhibit the potential for, accelerating or above-average earnings growth; analyzes the quality and sustainability of earnings; and looks for reasonable valuation.

Invesco Indo-Pacific Fund (Series A) topped the Asia Pacific Equity category for the 10-year period. The Fund is managed by the Invesco Perpetual team in Henley-on-Thames, U.K., which takes an active, pragmatic and flexible approach that combines top-down and bottom-up analyses. The team looks to own companies with good-quality management teams and undervalued future earnings streams.

PowerShares Canadian Dividend Index ETF (PDC) took home the award for three-year performance in the Canadian Dividend & Income Equity ETF category. The underlying index (Nasdaq Select Canadian Dividend Index) is comprised of companies incorporated in Canada, traded on a major Canadian exchange, with a history of stable or increasing annual regular dividend payments for the past five or more consecutive years.
