Construction firm taps cloud-based applications and business network to build more collaborative digital process for managing spend from end to end

If there’s one thing Mexico Proyectos y Desarrollos Servicios knows, it’s how to erect solid modern structures. So when the construction firm set out to revamp its procurement function, it started by looking for a strong foundation. And it found one in SAP Ariba. The company today announced that it will tap into the world’s largest business network and the cloud-based applications delivered on it to build a collaborative digital procurement process through which it can more efficiently manage its spend from end to end.

“Procurement in the construction, oil and gas, utilities and engineering industries is uniquely challenging, and to do it well requires a highly collaborative and informed approach,” said Salvador Cárdenas González, Director Administración y Control de Proyectos. “With SAP Ariba, we can quickly and easily connect people, processes and information across the entire source-to-settle process and manage our spend in a simple, smart and open way.”

As the foundation for its efforts, Mexico Proyectos will use Ariba® Collaborative Sourcing Professional™ and Ariba Procure-to-Pay™ alongside SAP® HANA. With Ariba Collaborative Sourcing Professional, Mexico Proyectos can take the complexities of direct materials sourcing head on using automated tools that allow it to:

  • Model product costings at the Bill of Material (BOM) level to understand the cost impact of different assemblies and components
  • Track item costs across time, suppliers, and BOMs to negotiate more savings
  • Achieve contract compliance and stop leakage through ERP integration
  • Source and contract faster by integrating master data across systems
  • Manage suppliers at the item or plant level to enhance supplier qualification and performance

And with the power of SAP HANA, the company can make faster, smarter, more informed decisions and accelerate its business results.

“Mexico Proyectos has built some of the most innovative and efficient structures in the world,” said Catalina Manrique, Vice President, SAP Ariba Latin America. “And in leveraging SAP Ariba’s business network and cloud based applications to construct a digital procurement process, the company is creating a new model for efficiency through which it can enhance its performance and drive business transformation.”
