PORT RICHEY, Fla., Oct. 19, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- U-Haul is
incorporating its adaptive reuse practices to convert two abandoned
buildings at 10314 and 10340 U.S. Hwy. 19 into a full-service
moving and self-storage facility.
U-Haul Moving & Storage of Jasmine Lakes began offering
truck and trailer rentals and moving supplies in May at the sites
last occupied by Blue Cross Blue Shield and Service Merchandise,
respectively.
"This property sat abandoned for more than 16 years and is very
much an eyesore to the local community," U-Haul Company of
Clearwater president Michael Wise said. "We have been welcomed with
open arms. People are really excited to see us move in."
When renovations are completed in early 2017, U-Haul customers
will have access to about 900 indoor self-storage units with
climate-control availability. There will also be 45 outdoor
drive-up units. In addition, U-Haul will offer towing equipment and
professional hitch installation, U-Box portable moving and
self-storage containers, propane and more.
"I'm excited for the challenge of taking this property and
bringing it back to life," Wise said. "These buildings sit on a
busy road. Thousands of drivers pass by every day, and we can't
wait to turn them into U-Haul customers."
Contact U-Haul Moving & Storage of Jasmine Lakes at (727) 233-8522 or stop by the
temporary showroom to ask about our progress. Hours of operation
are 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Saturday.

U-Haul will look to hire locally as services expand. Wise also
hopes local contractors will bid on the renovation work. When the
store is fully operational, he intends to employ at least 10 Team
Members. Learn more about U-Haul career opportunities at
