The presentations to be delivered by Owens Corning composites
experts include:
Reinforcements of Concrete – Next Frontier for
Composites. Global Product Manager Mikhail Vorobiev will
discuss the benefits of glass fiber reinforced polymers (GFRP) as a
replacement for steel reinforcements to improve durability and
corrosion issues associated with reinforced concrete structures.
GFRP benefits include corrosion resistance, light weight, enhanced
strength, and long service life, making it a key solution for
future composite growth aligned with a number of megatrends
impacting the infrastructure market. Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2:30 p.m.
to 3:15 p.m. PT (Room 207A).
Where Glass Reinforcements Can Create Value for Low- and
High-Pressure Pipe Manufacturers. Global Product Manager Bryan
Minges will share examples of how improved reinforcement solutions
can help create value for low- and high-pressure pipe manufacturers
in application development, pipe design optimization, and
manufacturing efficiency. The presentation will address
opportunities for composites growth driven by improved performance,
new application development, and lower operating cost for filament
winding applications supporting the water distribution,
petrochemical, infrastructure, marine transportation, and power and
energy sectors. Wednesday, Sept. 28, 8 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. PT (Room
210C).
How to Grow SMC Technology Applications. Dr. Sanghamitra
Sircar, Global Product Manager for SMC, will share her perspective
on the renaissance of sheet molding compound (SMC) as a solution
for a variety of applications to address opportunities in the
global industrial, building and automotive markets. The
presentation will discuss major markets and drivers for SMC, as
well as the range of glass fiber solutions and unique modeling
capabilities that can help the industry think differently about
part optimization based on material and design enhancements.
Thursday, Sept. 29, 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. (Room 207C).
Creating Shared Value & Competitive Advantage for
Composites Through Sustainability. Jesus Hernandez-Torres,
Senior R&D Leader, Product Stewardship and Sustainability, will
discuss opportunities to grow the adoption and impact of composites
in a variety of industries by leveraging the environmental benefits
of transitioning from conventional materials to composites. The
presentation will explore how sustainability can serve as a
differentiator in recycling, product transparency, materials
health, carbon neutral products, and material substitution.
Thursday, Sept. 29, 2:30 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. (Room 207D).
Now in its third year, CAMX is billed as the premier North
American event for showcasing composites and advanced materials
products, solutions, and thinking. The conference program is
