DALLAS, Sept. 26, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- COPsync, Inc. (NASDAQ: COYN), announced today that Amber, Silver, and Blue alerts will be distributed via the COPsync Network to the thousands of officers using the system across the US. The COPsync Network™ is the nation's only system that connects law enforcement officers and agencies nationwide to a database of non-adjudicated law enforcement information and enables them to communicate crimes in progress to connected agencies, even those thousands of mile apart.  Amber alerts relate to missing children; Silver alerts relate to missing elderly persons, and Blue alerts relate to threats against law enforcement officers from dangerous persons.

These emergency alerts will now be distributed to the thousands of COPsync law enforcement officers and hundreds of law enforcement dispatch centers using the COPsync system throughout the US. The officers and dispatchers will receive a "pop-up" notification of the alert, whether it be missing child, elderly or officer safety, in their patrol cars or dispatch center if they query a related license plate or driver's license.  If the alert relates to an active crime or incident in progress, the alert also can be broadcast immediately to officers and dispatchers in the vicinity. This new feature adds thousands of law enforcement users to the search for the missing child or elderly person and alerts the officers of safety threats from dangerous persons.

Ronald A. Woessner, CEO of COPsync stated, "Sending these emergency alerts via the COPsync Network directly to officers in their patrol cars and to dispatch centers is a force multiplier that makes these alerts more effective.  The thousands of officers using the COPsync system across the US will now have knowledge of missing children and missing elderly as well as safety threats from dangerous persons. This helps to find missing persons and keeps law enforcement officers safer."
