FRANKFURT--Siemens AG's Chief Technology Officer Siegfried
Russwurm will resign from the company's management board when his
contract expires in March 2017, Siemens said on Friday.
Mr. Russwurm has been on Siemens' management board since January
2008, working closely on the Munich-based company's digitization
program, the firm said. Mr. Russwurm was also responsible for the
Middle East and former Soviet Union countries, as well as being
board member responsible for the Siemens' healthcare segment.
"The decision not to extend his contract, which expires on March
31, was made with the full agreement of both parties," Supervisory
Board Chairman Gerhard Cromme said.
The company didn't provide a reason for his resignation.
Mr. Russman said he didn't want to "close the door on new
challenges."
