New offering includes all of Immersion’s
TouchSense® haptic solutions
Immersion Corp. (NASDAQ:IMMR), the leading developer and
licensor of touch feedback technology, today announced TouchSense®
SDK for Mobile Apps, a new haptic solution that unifies the
functionality from the TouchSense® SDK for Mobile Games and
TouchSense® SDK for Mobile Video into one easy-to-use SDK for
Android app developers.
The combined cross-platform solution will enable developers to
differentiate themselves among their competitors by delivering
engaging and impactful mobile experiences for their users, which
will keep those users coming back for more.
“A growing community of Android game and app developers have
embraced haptics as a way to create exciting mobile content,” said
Todd Whitaker, VP of Marketing from Immersion. “By consolidating
our functionality into a single SDK, we can streamline the mobile
app development process and reduce the amount of maintenance
overhead while supplying the maximum benefit for our developer
community.”
This new solution aims to address the pain points of Android
developers in distributing high-quality haptic-enabled content to
their end users. The new SDK offers a decreased footprint of 300K
and flexible integration options with multiple APIs, including a
Unity plug-in. Additionally, Immersion is providing 30 pre-designed
effects that developers can add to their applications immediately,
as well as a variety of sample applications and documentation to
help them quickly integrate and transition from any of Immersion’s
recent SDK solutions and get to market quickly.
