BRAMPTON, ON, Sept. 14, 2016 /CNW/ - Emergency Response Assistance Canada (ERAC), in conjunction with CN, will conduct a rail emergency training exercise on Sept 15, 2016. ERAC Response Teams, Technical Advisors and Remedial Measures Advisors from across Ontario, will take part in this full-scale hands-on exercise involving three simultaneous live-transfers of flammable product (LPG and light synthetic crude) from rail cars.

Media are invited to join Spencer Buckland, ERAC President, along with representatives from CN including Danny Simpson, AVP of Safety and Emergency Response, and David Slauson, CN Sr. Dangerous Goods Officer, for a media briefing on-site at the training exercise.

WHAT

Rail emergency exercise demonstrating the controlled transfer of flammable product from compromised rail cars.

 

*Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) is required (safety vest, hard hat, safety glasses, gloves and steel toe footwear).

Parking is available at the north west corner of the yard (map attached). All media must check in at the registration booth. PPE is required for all observers of the exercise. Smoking is not permitted in the CN rail yard.
