(b) On September 6, 2016, Ambassador Francis Rooney informed Laredo Petroleum, Inc. (the "Company") of his decision to resign from the Company's Board of Directors (the "Board") for personal reasons to focus on his election campaign for a Florida congressional seat and not due to any disagreement with the Company. The resignation is effective immediately. The Company appreciates Ambassador Rooney's distinguished service on the Board since February 2010.

Ambassador Rooney was Chairman of the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee of the Board and a member of the Compensation Committee of the Board.
