Cubiware, a Warsaw, Poland based TiVo company (NASDAQ: TIVO), today announced a partnership with Econet, a diversified telecommunications group with operations and investments in Africa, Europe, South America and the East Asia Pacific Rim. As a result of the partnership, Cubiware will combine efforts with leading set top box (STB) vendors to deliver the latest iteration of CubiTV middleware for hybrid satellite / IP deployment.

Through this collaboration Econet will provide a solution that is accessible in Africa by enabling pay-TV services through DVB-S2. CubiTV hybrid middleware gives subscribers access to premium on-demand content through its PushVOD functionality and allows Kwesé TV subscribers to watch premium movies and shows at a time and order of their choice. The Cubiware middleware platform is hybrid-ready allowing subscribers to benefit from a variety of interactive and streaming services as soon as the infrastructure is in place.

CubiTV hybrid middleware is widely available and has been delivered by Cubiware to operators across Latin America, Europe, Asia and now Africa. The solution is cost effective, accessible, and provides a superb user experience to subscribers expecting the latest advancements in television available today.
