Domtar Donates $100,000 to Office Depot Foundation National Backpack Program for Children in Need

Contribution supports distribution of
200,000 backpacks for children in need across the U.S.
Domtar Corporation (NYSE: UFS) (TSX: UFS) today announced it has
donated $100,000 to the nonprofit Office Depot Foundation’s
National Backpack Program. Domtar’s donation will help provide
children across the country with the supplies they need as the new
school year begins. 5,000 backpacks will be distributed to
nonprofit organizations and schools in the Charlotte area.
“Supporting the Office Depot Foundation is important to Domtar
because promoting education and literacy are core priorities for
us,” said Rob Melton, vice president of Paper Sales and Marketing
at Domtar. “Putting paper and writing supplies in the hands of
children in need helps set them up for success in school and in
life.”
Through their Powerful Pages initiative, Domtar engages with
organizations like the Office Depot Foundation, as well as schools
across North America, to share the gifts of reading and writing
with children and help equip them for learning.
