An Indiana leader who raises millions of dollars of seed money, directs a strategic partnership of CEOs, university presidents and other business VIPs, and is a prominent face of the Indiana Economic Club will be the keynote speaker at the Sept. 15 INVESTIndiana Equity Conference.

David L. Johnson, president and CEO of the Central Indiana Corporate Partnership (CICP), CEO of the BioCrossroads life sciences initiative and president of the Indiana Economic Club, will open the conference, to be held at the Indianapolis Downtown Marriott.  The event allows professional investors and fund managers to interact with leading Indiana public companies. This year, the lineup of 16 Indiana companies includes health sciences giants Eli Lilly (NYSE:LLY) and Zimmer Biomet (NYSE:ZBH), seven Indiana-based financial institutions and other key Indiana public companies.

Since 2013, Johnson has been leading CICP, an entity formed to collaborate the efforts of corporate executives, higher education leaders and others in a strategic way, to foster regional prosperity and growth. CICP sponsors six key economic development initiatives, each of which addresses challenges and opportunities unique to its respective sector: agricultural innovation, life sciences, workforce development, advanced manufacturing and logistics, energy technology and technology.

“What does Indiana’s future look like? It is incubating in CICP initiatives,” said Terry McWilliams, an investor relations consultancy owner who leads INVESTIndiana and chairs its steering committee.  “I’m sure the INVESTIndiana audience will be fascinated to learn how these investments and strategic initiatives will potentially shape Indiana’s economy.”

Professional investors and analysts, including CFA Society members, may attend as conference guests at no cost and register at www.invest-ind.com using the code "INVINDSP16".  For $129, business professionals may attend the conference, which includes breakfast, lunch, company presentations and the Indiana Public Company of the Year awards. Conference registration ends 7 p.m., Sept. 12.
