August 08 2016 - 11:49AM
Dow Jones News
Valero Energy Corp. reported problems with a unit that led to
excess emissions at its refinery in Port Arthur, Texas.
"Process unit upset resulted in excess flaring emissions," the
refinery said in a filing it sent to the Texas Commission on
Environmental Quality. "Operations followed procedures to mitigate
potential impacts."
The emissions of sulfur dioxide began and ended Sunday
afternoon, according to the statement from the 335,000-barrel-a-day
refinery, which is located east of Houston.
