On June 17, 2016, Publix Super Markets, Inc. (“Publix” or the “Company”) issued a press release to announce the resignation of Carol Jenkins Barnett, effective immediately, as a member of the Board of Directors. Mrs. Barnett was recently diagnosed with younger onset Alzheimer’s and is resigning to focus on her health and spend quality time with her family.
A copy of the press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1.
