Trane Announces Significant Centrifugal Chiller Line Expansion and Services for the United States and Canada

Business Wire
Trane, a leading global provider of indoor comfort solutions and
services and a brand of Ingersoll Rand, is expanding its CenTraVac™
centrifugal chiller portfolio for large buildings and industrial
applications in the United States and Canada. These additions
address customer demand for chillers and services that are
efficient, reliable, safe and compliant with current and proposed
regulations.
In 2017, Trane will offer small tonnage CenTraVac chillers for
markets like office and municipal buildings with a choice of
current, high efficiency refrigerant R-123 or R-514A. R-514A is a
next-generation, low global warming potential (GWP) refrigerant
from Chemours (Opteon™ XP30). Starting now, Trane offers large
tonnage CenTraVac chillers for applications such as industrial
buildings, data centers and higher education facilities with
R-1233zd (Honeywell Solstice® zd).
Trane CenTraVac chillers are the most reliable, efficient,
lowest emission and quietest centrifugal chillers on the market
today. They are part of the Ingersoll Rand EcoWise™ portfolio of
products that are designed to lower environmental impact with
next-generation, low-GWP refrigerants and high efficiency
operation.
“We are pleased to bring our customers new choices for achieving
their building, business and sustainability goals without
compromising safety, performance or efficiency,” said Dave Regnery,
president of commercial heating, ventilating and air-conditioning
(HVAC) North America, Europe, Middle East and Africa for Ingersoll
Rand. “We paired our technical and applications expertise with new
refrigerant and service offerings to deliver efficiency and
reliability that customers expect.”
To provide customers maximum flexibility, Trane will offer a
service option that requires minimal rework to convert existing
CenTraVac chillers with R-123 to R-514A. It will also extend its
availability and price guarantee on R-123 for customers purchasing
a CenTraVac chiller using the refrigerant.
