Huron Consulting Group (NASDAQ: HURN), a leading provider of business consulting services, today announced that Gary Anthony and Shari Breuer have been appointed as managing directors in the Company’s Healthcare practice. Anthony and Breuer join Huron Healthcare’s Value-Based Care and Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) solutions, respectively.

“As the healthcare industry slowly implements population health management and transitions to value-based payments, healthcare organizations take on the challenging task of improving quality of care and patient satisfaction at a lower cost or while reducing costs,” said Gordon Mountford, executive vice president, Huron Healthcare. “Gary and Shari have extensive knowledge of the challenges our clients are facing and will assist them in developing innovative solutions.”

Anthony brings over 30 years of experience in improving cost, quality, safety and efficiency across healthcare and health information technology companies. Throughout his career, he has led a range of population health engagements including clinical, business and organizational transformation initiatives within the industry. Prior to joining Huron Healthcare, Anthony was the head of Enablement Services for Aetna’s Accountable Care Solutions and previously, a partner at KPMG LLP.

With more than 20 years of experience as a healthcare professional, Breuer has worked with inpatient hospitals, outpatient clinics and physician groups to optimize their revenue cycles, CDIs, payer networks and value-based methodologies. Breuer previously served as the senior vice president of Revenue Cycle Management at the Center for Diagnostic Imaging, as well as a principal for The Claro Group, LLC.
