French media conglomerate Vivendi SA (VIV.FR) raised its stake in video-streaming website Dailymotion to 90% through the acquisition of an additional 10% from Orange SA (ORA.FR), Les Echos newspaper reported, citing unidentified sources.

Vivendi paid 27 million euros ($30.5 million) for the stake in Dailymotion, the newspaper reported. The company had paid EUR217 million for an 80% stake in Dailymotion last June.

Vivendi stepped in earlier this year to buy Dailymotion after the French government twice prevented Orange from selling the country's largest video-streaming website to foreign companies.

A spokesman for Vivendi declined to comment on the report from Les Echos. Vivendi is due to report its first-half profit report.
