- Ford's new addition to
F-Series pick trucks- In a press release dated
July 21, 2015, Ford Motor Co.
reported the launch of the new Ford F-150 Limited. The truck, which
the company touts as its "most advanced and luxurious truck ever,"
comes equipped with more standard technology and driver convenience
features than any other light-duty pickup. The Company informed
that the new addition to the F-150 model lineup is toughest,
smartest, safest and most capable F-150 ever. The 2016 model, which
meets the growing needs of discerning truck customers interested in
exclusivity, capability and craftsmanship, is likely to go on sale
this winter.
- A closer look at features - The Ford F-150 Limited
features chrome exterior features, leather interior and a host of
special "Limited" badging. Buyers will get 22-inch polished
aluminium wheels, a chrome front bumper with body color end caps, a
unique grille, and lots of other features. The pickup will be
available in four colors including shadow black, magnetic, blue
jeans, and white platinum metallic tri-coat. The standard equipment
list of Ford F-150 Limited includes BLIS® with cross-traffic alert,
chrome front tow hooks (4x4 only), panoramic vista roof,
power-deployable running boards, quad-beam LED headlamps, remote
start and remote tailgate release as well as an integrated trailer
brake controller. Truck's interior equipment also includes Mojave
leather front seats with 10-way power adjustment and
class-exclusive multicontour massaging along with heated rear seats
and SYNC® 3 with AppLink™. SYNC 3 is Ford's newest communications
and entertainment system that features enhanced voice recognition,
high-speed performance, capacitive touch screen and
easier-to-understand graphical interface.3
- Superior power features and fuel economy - Powered by
the 3.5-liter EcoBoost® V6, the new launch can tow upto 10,100
pounds when properly equipped. The release highlighted that this
advanced powertrain produces 365 hp and 420 lb.-ft. of torque - the
latter unsurpassed by any truck with a comparable engine in its
class - and has an EPA-estimated fuel economy rating of 17 miles
per gallon in city driving, 24 mpg on the highway and 20 mpg
combined. The V6 when paired with an electronic 6-speed auto
transmission, with tow/haul and sport modes that features
SelectShift® with progressive range select. Four-wheel drive
versions of the truck are equipped with two-speed automatic
four-wheel drive that automatically changes between two-wheel and
four-wheel drive depending on road conditions.
