AIRPORT CITY, Israel, May 13, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- SodaStream International LTD. (NASDAQ: SODA), the leading global manufacturer and distributor of sparkling water makers, announced today a global cooperation agreement with Le Cordon Bleu, the world's largest hospitality education system, to promote healthy cooking across the U.S., Latin America, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region.

SodaStream and Le Cordon Bleu are teaming up to jointly develop co-branded flavors that will include only naturally-derived ingredients to be used with SodaStream Sparkling Water Makers. Both parties will also create a joint recipe booklet that promotes the usage of SodaStream Sparkling Water Makers to produce sparkling water for incorporation in healthy cooking. It has been demonstrated that using sparkling water in dough-based recipes for bread and dumplings results in a fluffier batter with a nicer texture, while cooking vegetables in sparkling water also helps maintain the true coloring of veggies like carrots, peas and green beans.

"SodaStream is committed to promoting healthy hydration by providing consumers with the ability to easily create their own sparkling water at home and add great tasting natural flavors to them," said Daniel Birnbaum, CEO of SodaStream. "By partnering with the world-renowned Le Cordon Bleu culinary school, we will now have the opportunity to incorporate the benefits of SodaStream into this thought-leading community as well."

As part of the agreement, Le Cordon Bleu will use a SodaStream Sparkling Water Maker at high profile events and promote its usage to encourage healthy eating and hydration.  Additionally, Le Cordon Bleu will reference SodaStream and the use of SodaStream Sparkling Water Makers in recipe books, online recipes, webisodes, and other materials which incorporate carbonated water as part of the culinary experience.  Finally, Le Cordon Bleu's chefs and students will also incorporate SodaStream Sparkling Water Makers in the development of recipes and culinary techniques.

"Le Cordon Bleu's reputation has endured by actively keeping courses up-to-date and industry relevant using innovative new technologies. Our academic programs are constantly adapted to the future needs of hospitality services, and this is the reason why Le Cordon Bleu has naturally partnered with SodaStream. In addition, research has proved that cooking with sparkling water is healthier." says Andre Cointreau, President of Le Cordon Bleu International.
