Dow Jones News
8:22 EDT - The potential sale of assets by HSBC in Brazil may
make more sense for Santander than for other large Brazilian banks
Itau Unibanco and Bradesco, which already enjoy a dominant presence
in Latin America's largest nation, Deutsche Bank analyst Tito
Labarta says. Mr. Labarta also cited BTG Pactual, Citibank and
Inbursa, as potential buyers of HSBC in Brazil. Last week, WSJ
reported that hired advisers to pitch a large chunk of its
Brazilian unit to prospective buyers, according to people familiar
with the matter. (rogerio.jelmayer@wsj.com)
