NEW YORK, April 2, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Delcath
Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: DCTH), a specialty pharmaceutical and
medical device company focused on oncology with an emphasis on the
treatment of primary and metastatic liver cancers, announces that
the Company has activated its prospective patient registry for
Europe. Netherlands Cancer
Institute-Antoni van Leeuwenhoek Hospital (NKI-AVL) in Amsterdam, the Netherlands has formally agreed
to participate in the program and will begin enrolling patients.
The Company is also working with other commercial centers to obtain
"real world" effectiveness and safety data and anticipates having
representation from the United
Kingdom and Germany in the
coming months. The Company established its registry to use
observational study methods to collect uniform essential patient
safety, efficacy, and Quality of Life (QoL) information from
commercial cases performed in Europe.
"Our prospective patient registry is an important element of our
observational data collection and safety confirmation strategy,"
said Jennifer Simpson, Ph.D.,
Interim President and CEO of Delcath Systems. "The registry
will provide valuable benefit/risk analyses and other data from a
heterogeneous commercial setting, which can be used to support
clinical adoption and secure reimbursement in certain European
markets. Additionally, we hope to obtain efficacy signals in
various tumor types, which will help guide other aspects of our
Clinical Development Program."

high-dose chemotherapy to the liver while controlling systemic

has not been approved for sale in the U.S. We have commenced a
global Phase 2 clinical trial in Europe and the U.S. to investigate the
Melphalan/HDS system for the treatment of primary liver cancer
(HCC), and expect to initiate a global Phase 3 trial in ocular
melanoma (OM) that has metastasized to the liver and plan to
evaluate intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC) in a Phase 2
