CENTREVILLE, Va., Jan. 14, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Carfax today announced a major expansion of the Carfax Service Network. The no-cost vehicle maintenance program is evolving to better connect member shops with the nearly one million car owners using myCarfax. As part of the expansion, each participating dealership and aftermarket service location now is known as a 'myCarfax Service Shop', making them more recognizable to potential customers.

Shops also get additional benefits through ongoing enhancements to the myCarfax mobile app that help increase new service business and improve customer retention.

"This is a huge leap forward that delivers even more value to our member shops," said Vern Poyner, general manager at Carfax. "Expanding Carfax Service Network is a direct result of the success we've had connecting myCarfax users with trusted service locations in their area. More connections mean more business and more satisfied customers."

Program benefits are increasing for all myCarfax Service Shops. Members will receive new myCarfax-branded point of sale materials for display in their shop or service bays free of charge. Other benefits like shop ratings and reviews, and mobile coupons on the myCarfax app, will be rolled out over the next few weeks.

"We love all the benefits we get from our membership," said Dave Toole, owner of Toole's Garage in San Carlos, Calif. "The myCarfax service is growing so quickly that ensuring our shop is included is vital, and has proven effective. We're reaching and retaining more customers who are confident in us and the expert work of our technicians. And, at no cost to us, the price sure is right."

There currently are more than 33,000 participating locations across the U.S. becoming myCarfax Service Shops. Car owners using myCarfax can easily find these shops when looking for local places to have their vehicle(s) serviced or repaired, or open recalls fixed.
