Wendy's Co. announced several management moves including a plan
for a new chief marketing officer, with Brandon Solano slated to
replace Craig Bahner early next year. Mr. Bahner has been in the
role since 2012.
Mr. Solano, a veteran of Domino's Pizza Inc. and Hershey Co.,
joined Wendy's in July as Senior Vice President of Marketing.
Wendy's said Todd Penegor, Senior Vice President and Chief
Financial Officer, has been promoted to Executive Vice President,
Chief Financial Officer and International. He will work with
International President Darrell van Ligten.
Meanwhile, Bob Wright, the company's chief operations officer,
has been named Executive Vice President, Chief Operations
Officer.
Wendy's also said Abigail Pringle will be Chief Development
Officer, as part of the company's efforts to invest in technology
and development. Ms. Pringle was previously Senior Vice President
Restaurant Development & Growth Initiatives. The company's
leader of digital marketing efforts, Brandon Rhoten, will be Vice
President, Digital Experience.
In November, the company unveiled a cost-cutting effort to
reduce expenses by up to $30 million amid record-high beef costs
and pressure from the implementation of the Affordable Care Act.
Wendy's swung to a profit in its third quarter, but posted
per-share earnings and revenue below Wall Street expectations.
