Dow Jones News
LONDON--OPEC's basket of crudes fell below $60 a barrel Friday
for the first time since oil prices began sliding this summer.
The average price of crude oils from the 12 members of the
Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries stood at $58.65 a
barrel Friday, the group said.
That compares with $60.50 a barrel the previous day.
The majority of OPEC members need prices at $100 a barrel or
above to balance their government budgets.
